Make sure you have enough available hard drive space. Also try doing a Thorough File Check (under the Advance options on patcher screen).

Ouch . . . if Sony pushed a bad Patcher program that isn't allowing anyone to even GET to the patcher, they now have no way of automatically fixing the issue. Start checking the EQ Tech Site for a corrected version of the patcher program to manually download.

WAY TO GO SONY!!!! In the immortal words of Cangaciero . . . buncha %$@!tards!

Replace Everquest.exe with the file in this archive... I had to try it a few times but eventually it updated to a valid version of the patcher.

Having same problem after restarting my machine. I ran patcher before that, it downloaded everything that I could tell, then it started repeating download, it was weird. :/

Same happened to me... But I had to restart my computer and restart the patcher, and it started giving me the bad copy. The bad copy is just trying to get the patch from a location that doesn't exist (the old location of test server patches, I think). If this is stored in an xml or ini somewhere and you can figure out what it's supposed to be changing it there would probably work. But downloading the old patcher I linked and retrying a few times seems to be going ok for me now...
