Holidays and Applications

Post by Laleldil »

With the months of November and December greatly tied with Thanksgiving and Christmas, I wonder how this will affect the application process. With some people working in retail, they are likely to either get alot of abnormal overtime or have a second job. Also children are more likely to have Christmas plays tha at would necessitate less EQ time. Someone who normally would have a 90% raid attendance could easily find themselves at 40% or less, especially with multiple targets some nights and geting stuck on a single target another night.

My only suggestion at the moment is for Apps to please make mention of the unusual circumstances during this heavy application time. I know a couple of former TNT members who are really nice who fall into this category. A shame for them it seems that TNT is radically changing at this particular time of the year.

Just something to think about when evaluating applicants and for applicants to ponder.

Thanks for the mention of this. I appreciate seeing an understanding of rl. Heck it sucked tonight. Got home from the store with a ton of groceries at 3 pm only to find the power to be out. It just came back on at nearly 11PM. bleck, missed an easy day to attend a raid! and got some melted goodies in the freezer grrr

Some questions about what to post:

Single target that take all night are worth less than many easier smaller targets in the same amount of time? To me , being stuck on a single target is a big part of the game to learn encounters and should be worth the same as hopping from zone to zone to farm some smaller things to gear folks up. I always like to think, raiding the small stuff and groupng for AA's is for the bigger target that take all night. I am guessing if the former is the case, we get less loot on a target that takes all night, so it would balance out in the end anyway.

How does that work? I have been trying to post when we do different targets in different zones, but sometimes if I raid for 5 or more hours, things sort of blend togeher hehe. GoD names are bad, but at least we aren't in VT ! hahaha I wish we could see the hit list, just for the spellings.

What is defines a different target?
Loot dropping mobs?

If we are missing anything in our posts, please let us know.

Thanks again for the consideration for our rls!! I appreciate it. see ya in game

Most of the intent on my post was to make sure Apps let the Officers etc know if they are missing raids for an abnormal reason that the passing of next 8 weeks will clear up.

Occasionally we get stuck on one target, but that is usually a progression target so is worth more. Like Tacvi, I believe several of the mobs are now considered farm mobs and are worth a value of 1 and we might be able to get 3 of them done in a night. While North Snake, which I believe we have not killed yet, may take all night in the trying, and is worth 3 points. However, should a night happen we do Tssara, Cyno, then North Snake, that night could be then worth 5 points. And I am not sure how MPG raid trials are counted. NORMALLY the officers keep the points pretty even per raid night, but if you get unlucky with your RL time schedule, you might take a dive in attendence percent.

That above is a real modified explanation of raid attendance value from a person least qualified to explain how to even tie a shoe. IF you have any questions, ASK an officer directly for clarification. Don't want anyone to claim 'Well Lal said....'. This is just my understanding.
