What a dud this turned out to be....

Cool movie if you have never read the book. If you have read the book, you spend most of your time saying.... WTF?

Been so long since I've read the book, I don't remember a piece of it. I might actually enjoy the movie then?

Having read the book probably 20 times over the years and owning both paperbacks and collectors hard copies of all the tolkein books, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, did not find it long or drawn out, and thought it was pretty true to the book overall. Even though they have made 3 movies out of the hobbit book, I still felt they didn't spend enough time on the Gollum and finding of the ring scenes. I did not see it in 3d but plan to this weekend. If you want an enjoyable fantasy movie this will serve just fine.

I thought it was a great movie, kept my interest. I have read the hobbit, but it has been many years.
